Vitamins, minerals, and supplements are to be taken to provide an optimum level of nutrition for health preservation and the cure and prevention of diseases. This program is intended to optimize nutrition rather than simply meet the minimum daily requirements. In many cases the amounts taken are many times the minimum daily value (DV)  or recommended daily allowance (RDA).

The major responsibility for our diet recommendation rests on the shoulders of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA). The USDA has published the official diet in the form of an icon called the USDA MyPlate Food Guide. The USFDA has published the official USFDA Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) for carbohydrate, protein, and fat. However, therein lies a big flaw. Neither the Food Guide Pyramid nor the RDA is based on scientific facts. If you follow the Food Guide Pyramid as your daily nutritional guide, you will encounter many related degenerative diseases like diabetes, heart disease, cancer, bowel disease, autoimmune diseases, and many more. The USDA Food Guide Pyramid and FDA Recommended Daily Allowances are solely responsible for the current high incidence of adult onset Type II diabetes which has tripled in the last 30 years. Type II diabetes is becoming common among teenagers, who were once thought to be excluded from this "age related" disease.

The USFDA Nutritional Guidelines Are Not Scientific.

Many people think the Atkins’ low-carbohydrate diet is lacking essential nutrients because it doesn't match the results of the Food Guide Pyramid. Their reference is the US Food & Drug Administration (USFDA) Nutritional Guide for Daily Values (DV) as shown on all nutrition labels. The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food Guide Pyramid was developed by vegetarians with an agenda. Nathan Pritikin and Senator George McGovern were the perpetrators. There is no science behind the Food Guide Pyramid. It was a scam from the beginning -- a make-believe nutritional plan to limit the consumption of animal products. The results has been rampant heart disease, cancer, diabetes, osteoporosis, intestinal diseases, and a medical handbook full of other ailments. The USFDA Nutritional Guide is based on the Food Guide Pyramid. This is easy to prove. Simply go to a food count book or and enter a 2000-calorie diet exactly according to the pyramid. The results will show every nutritional requirement to be perfectly achieved. It’s all a scam. There is no hard science behind the establishment of the USFDA daily nutritional requirements.

Vitamin and mineral food count books cannot be trusted to give the correct amounts of vitamins and minerals contained in various foods. Meat is typically ignored as a recommended vitamin or mineral source in favor of fruit and vegetables. In truth, red meat, fowl, fish, and seafood are packed with vitamins minerals, essential fatty acids, and essential amino acids. Vitamin B12 is only found in meat. When explorers discovered the North American Indians and Eskimos, they found them to be in excellent health even though their diet consisting almost entirely of meat. Nutritionists of the day and modern nutritionists cannot concede the fact that these people did not suffer from scurvy because of a deficiency of vitamin C as expected. The explorers found that fresh meat and pemmican not only prevented scurvy but it cured scurvy in those already suffering from the disease. The Indians and Eskimos lived in excellent health on an all-meat diet. The Eskimos that lived in Northern Canada on the Mackenzie River delta ate a diet almost entirely of salmon, caribou, and seal. The North American Plains Indians lived primarily on pemmican, a mixture of lean buffalo meat, dried, shredded, or pounded fine and mixed with melted fat. The fat was half internal hard fat and half external soft back fat. The content was 70% fat on a calorie basis, contrary to the erroneous statements made in numerous books that the basis for the Indians' diet was lean meat. These writers came to this hasty conclusion because buffalo flesh is more lean than beef. The Indians added 50% fat on a volume basis to make the pemmican. The Hudson Bay Company and North West Company (fur trappers and traders) purchased pemmican from the Indians by the ton to supply the fur trappers. The United States Government later moved the Indians to reservations where the Government provided them with grain, flour, and sugar as food instead of meat. The high-carbohydrate diet supplied by the Government destroyed the health of the Indians causing an epidemic of obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and cancer that continues to this day.

Supplements for Those Without a Gallbladder.

Bile Acid Factors. Those who have had their gall bladders removed may have difficulties in the digestion of fats. Bile acid factors (bile salts) can be taken as a supplement with each meal to provide the bile acids necessary for the proper digestion of dietary fats. In the small intestine, bile acids emulsify fats to aid their absorption. Bile acid deficiency causes fat malabsorption and fatty stools (steatorrhea), indicated by diarrhea and floating stools. Notes and Comments

Note 1 - KAL Magnesium Glycinate 400 is the highly absorption form of magnesium chelated with amino acids that can be taken at twice the dosage as other brands without causing intestinal distress. Note 5 - DHEA can and does cause hypertension (high blood pressure). DHEA prevents the formation of autoimmune antibodies. People with autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, and dozens of other diseases should consider taking DHEA. However, DHEA has been shown to increase the growth rate of existing prostate cancers. Therefore, middle-age and older men should limit the daily dose to one 5 mg tablet. Younger persons do not need to supplement with DHEA.

Note 6 - P5P, is the active form of Vitamin B6, is necessary for many amino acid reactions to take place.

Note 7 - Enzymes can cause sluggish bowels and should be avoided if constipation occurs.

Note 8 - People with acid reflux (GERD) actually have a low level of stomach acid as proven in tests. Start with one tablet per meal and increase slowly to as many as four per meal, if necessary. Betaine HCL is needed for the proper digestion of protein and the absorption of vitamins and minerals. Do not give Betaine HCL to children or young adults because they generally have normal stomach acid.

As a result, we must be sure our diet contains sufficient amounts of both alpha-linolenic acid and linoleic acid. Cod liver oil is the best source.

Note 11 - Germanium Sesquioxide (Ge-132) listed here is the non toxic form of germanium that has been shown to have anti-cancer, anti-tumor properties.

Note 12 - Animal-rights wackos have propagated the lies about vitamin A and D toxicity from cod liver oil in hopes that people will avoid taking it because it is an animal product. Other unknowledgeable people pass the false information on and on and on until nearly everyone accepts it.  One teaspoon of Carlson's Lemon Flavored Cod Liver Oil has about 20% RDA of vitamin A and 100% RDA of vitamin D or 400 IU.  This website author has taken 2 tablespoons (6 teaspoons) per day for several years with only healthy benefits. This gives just a little more than the RDA of vitamin A and six times the level of vitamin D.  However, you would have to take 30 tablespoons per day for 6 months to reach the slightest level of toxicity of vitamin D.  Polar bear liver can have such a high level of vitamin D that it killed early explorers in just one meal. So, don't eat any polar bear liver....LOL. A "global warming" brainwashing scare was presented on the Internet and TV on December 1, 2006, in which polar bears looked forlorn as if trapped on the floating piece of ice. This brainwashing story is run several times a year on the Internet and TV. Actually, the bears are simply looking suspiciously at the humans nearby who are taking pictures. The story is nonsense and brainwashing. The bears can swim for 100 miles in open sea just for the fun of it, and they know where they are going. The ice along Northern Canada and Alaska has always melted at the shoreline in summer. That is why explorers tried to search for the Northwest Passage, a route that was ice free around Northern Canada. The passage is rarely fully open, but an icebreaker has made the trip from Greenland to Alaska. The Franklin party comprised of two ships tried to find the passage in 1825. They knew they would be trapped in the ice all winter and prepared for it by bringing guns, food, and lime juice for vitamin C. They all died anyway from scurvy, a disease caused by vitamin C deficiency. The men on the trapped ships could see the nearby Eskimos waving as they went about their daily routine hunting seals, raising babies, taking care of old people, and feeding their dogs. The Eskimos had no guns and ate a 100% meat diet. Professional nutritionists brainwash the public by claiming that meat has no vitamin C. Actually, the Eskimos' 100% meat diet prevented scurvy and could cure scurvy in those who suffer from it as proven by arctic explorer Vilhjalmur Stefansson.

Note 13 - Copper is vital for healthy arteries. Copper deficiency is widespread and leads to many serious diseases including cerebral aneurysms (rupture causing a stroke), abdominal aorta aneurysms (rupture causing instant death from internal bleeding), nerve damage, birth defects, cerebral palsy, and mental deterioration. Do not take high doses of zinc because it depletes copper.

Note 14 - L-Tryptophan and P5P. Emotions and mood swings, such as excitement, anxiety, and depression can have very negative effects on the body, including high blood pressure, high heart pulse rate, poor digestion, constipation or diarrhea. The combination of these supplements is a major breakthrough in digestive health. It works by calming the digestive system, hormones, and all autoimmune diseases. The combination of NSI L-Tryptophan (an essential amino acid) and vitamin P5P (pyridoxal-5-phosphate, a form of vitamin B6) promotes healing of the digestive system. P5P is needed to convert L-tryptophan to serotonin. The serotonin calms digestion and the immune system. Serotonin promotes sound sleep and can be the cure for insomnia, an awesome side benefit. The CDC said that the radiation exploding and leaking from the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant posed no health problems for citizens living in the United States (liar, liar, pants on fire; your nose is as long as a telephone wire).
At the time of the Japanese earthquake, tsunami, and Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant meltdown I warned against eating any North Pacific fish or seafood. Dead fish and dead seal pups are now being washed up on beaches in California.
I also advised that people everywhere take extra iodine in the form of kelp. One good source for iodine is Solgar North Atlantic Kelp 200mcg. Take two per day at breakfast and dinner. Do not take any kelp unless it is labeled as coming from the Atlantic Ocean, Icelandic, or Norwegian. Excess iodine fills the thyroid gland to prevent the uptake of cancer-causing radioactive iodine 131. Taking kelp will prevent thyroid problems and cancer.
Also, people on a low-carbohydrate and salt-free diet can develop goiter from an iodine deficiency. I personally know of one person who did. Table salt should be avoided as much as possible by everyone because it contains iodine by law and the iodine could contain radioactive iodine 131.

THE MERCK MANUAL, Vitamin Deficiency And Toxicity.

"Vitamin D 1000 μg (40,000 IU)/day produces toxicity within 1 to 4 mo in infants; as little as 50 to 75 μg (2000 to 3000 IU)/day, if taken for years, can produce toxicity. In adults, taking 2500 μg (100,000 IU)/day for several months can produce toxicity."

TEST: Any health advisor, professional nutritionist, or medical doctor who discourages taking cod liver oil by warning of vitamin A or D toxicity is a wacko. An adult would have to take 30 tablespoons per day for six months to reach any level of vitamin D toxicity. If you believe the vitamin A or D toxicity stories, you have been brainwashed.

Most vitamins, minerals, and supplements are produced in bulk by major chemical companies worldwide. Smaller companies obtain these vitamins, minerals, and supplements in bulk for blending, mixing, packaging, and retail or wholesale sales. We see BASF advertise on TV, "We don't make products that you buy, we make them better."

"This is not news for BASF, which has been experiencing such pressures for some time – compounded by competition from Chinese vitamin suppliers." 

Everything else is made in China. Why not vitamins?

"In 2005 BASF initiated a restructuring programme in an effort to improve margins for the division. The most significant measure so far has been the closure of the plant in Grenaa, Denmark, which has helped reduce fixed costs in vitamin C and means that BASF's primary source is now Asia."

The Dow Chemical Company - PharmTech.

"Dow offers technologies, services, and ingredient materials appropriate for branded ethical pharmaceuticals, generic drugs, over-the-counter pharmaceuticals, vitamins, and supplements."

We don't see these DOW vitamins and supplements on the shelves in health food stores. Retailers that claim their vitamins, minerals, and supplements are unique and special are generally marketing products using fraudulent scam tactics.

Colloidal minerals are another good example. These minerals come from humic shale mined in Utah. Humic shale is the result of vegetable and plant matter being compressed for thousands of years but not being mineralized into fossils or coal. Plants hold minerals in a colloidal state (very small clusters), not in the bulk metallic state. The shale is ground to fine powder and soaked in water to extract the colloidal minerals. It is then sold in bulk to numerous packaging and resale vitamin companies. NOW claims that they remove undesirable heavy metals from the colloidal minerals.

Examples of unhealthy minerals are "sea salt" and "coral calcium." These are "natural" minerals. As such, the manufacturer does not need to list all of the ingredients. These sea products can contain heavy metals such as lead, mercury, and arsenic. The companies may hesitate to sell products with large amounts of heavy metals, but these natural products are not pure. "Natural" can indicate the product is unhealthy. Buyers are duped and brainwashed into thinking "natural" is always better.

Do not take flax seed oil because it is high in unhealthy omega-6 fatty acids.

Do not take "whole food vitamins" because they are basically concentrated fruit juice, herbal extracts, vegetable juice, grain extracts, yeast, and fake homeopathic elements that are very high in carbohydrates and cellulose.

Do not take barley grass, wheat grass, alfalfa grass, oat grass, herbal greens, or greens supplements because they are extracts from grasses, grains, seeds, nuts, legumes, herbs, vegetables, and sea vegetables that are high in carbohydrates and cellulose. Humans are not herbivores.

Antioxidants are nutrients that possess the capacity to chemically react with and neutralize harmful molecules such as free radicals. Free radicals are molecules or atoms that can chemically bond to and damage DNA, proteins, and cells. Free radicals are generated by infection, tobacco smoke, air pollutants, ultraviolet light, radiation, environmental toxins, excessive exercise, and excessive food processing. In today's world, they are everywhere. A balanced approach to antioxidant supplementation is to take several different types of antioxidants. The major antioxidants are vitamin C, vitamin E, selenium, and astaxanthin.
