What is the Cause of Lung Cancer?
Lung cancer is a dreaded medical diagnosis with a mortality rate approaching 100%, because conventional medical treatments with chemotherapy, radiotherapy (radiation), and surgery rarely provide a long-term cure. Lung cancer is normally considered a death sentence. Oh, the doctor will not tell you that. He will encourage you as he crosses his fingers behind his back. He will most likely offer the latest chemotherapy drug treatment with enthusiasm and hope. Don't believe it. People accept these hopeless treatments, because conventional medicine really does not offer any other options, and they certainly do not offer any treatments that will cure lung cancer.
The conventional medical treatments for lung cancer are pitiful, but the common diagnosis is even worse. Kathy was a typical case. She had a persistent cough that was immediately dismissed by her doctor. Some of the typical diagnoses for patients with undiagnosed lung cancer are:
Do you or have you ever smoked? If you say "no," the doctor will dismiss the possibility of lung cancer. That is what Kathy's doctor did.
Did your mother or father die of lung cancer? If you say "no," the doctor will dismiss the possibility of lung cancer. That is what Kathy's doctor did.
The doctor will say you most likely have a post nasal drip, nothing to be concerned about. He will most likely dismiss the possibility of lung cancer. That is what Kathy's doctor did.
The doctor will ask if you eat lots of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains while avoiding saturated fats and red meat. If you say "yes," the doctor will dismiss the possibility of lung cancer. That is what Kathy's doctor did. He may tell you to switch to a vegetarian diet, but Kathy was already a vegetarian.
The doctor may tell you to get more exercise, but Kathy was a triathlon competitor.
Kathy's persistent cough became severe before her doctor finally ordered a chest x-ray. Oops! Lung cancer was an obvious diagnosis. The cancer had spread far beyond any hope that surgery would help.
Kathy's friend, a fellow running competitor, never had any unusual cough at all, but she was also diagnosed with lung cancer about two years after Kathy's death.
There are many causes for lung cancer. They include:
Chemical exposure to carcinogenic agents such as asbestos or dioxin.
DNA damage from radiation exposure from X-rays, nuclear elements, and solar radiation.
Cell membrane damage from eating hydrogenated trans fatty acids.
Free radical overload from activities such as cigarette smoking or chewing tobacco.
Fungus and yeasts from smoking cigarettes.
Depressed immune system from immune-suppressant drugs.
Hormonal factors such as hormone replacement therapy and phytoestrogens from soy and plastics.
Viruses such as hepatitis C, HCV, and HIV cause other cancers and may contribute to lung cancer..
General poor health such as obesity and inflammatory bowel diseases.
Diet that is high in carbohydrates such as fruit, starchy vegetables, and whole grains.
Diets deficient in protein that suppress the immune system.
Diet deficiencies that cause normal cells to mutate into cancer cells.
Conventional medicine does not even suggest the most likely cause for lung cancer:
Candida albicans yeasts, molds, and fungi infections.
Your doctor will probably never suggest the possibility that your symptoms are caused by a candida albicans or another type of fungus infection even though the lungs, bronchial tubes, sinuses, and nasal passages are highly susceptible to the infection. The respiratory system is an ideal place for fungus to be contracted and to grow. It is moist and is constantly exposed to fungi in the air we breathe.
Cancer - The Cause, Prevention, Treatment, Control, and Spontaneous Remission of Cancer of the Breast, Prostate, Lung, Colon, Liver, Pancreas, Brain, Bone, Lymph Gland, or Skin Melanoma.
The diagnosis of cancer throws terror into the heart of a patient for one very good reason. Oncologists (cancer doctors) are an utter failure at preventing and curing cancer. The reasons cancer doctors are such failures are because they ignore scientific facts and they ignore treatments of promise. Some of these alternative cancer treatments are described below. Cancer doctors are stuck in a false paradigm of ONLY treating cancer by cutting it out, irradiating it or trying to kill it with chemotherapy. None are these treatments are truly effective.
Fungi, Mold, and Candida Yeast Infections Cause Some Cancers
Carbohydrates in the diet encourage the growth of fungi, molds, and yeasts that can cause a systemic infection in the body. Fungi have been identified as a prime suspect for causing some types of cancer. The fungi can invade and/or attach to healthy body cells, thereby causing them to replicate as cancer cells. The immune system in a fungus-infected person is simply overwhelmed by the massive assault on cells and cannot protect all of them. Cryptococcus and Aspergillus fumigatus are common fungi that infects the lungs of people, but other fungi are numerous.
Cancerous tumors can be formed by a growing cluster of fungi cells. These are not healthy body cells that have turned cancerous. They are fungus cells. Cancer is often seen in individuals who have systemic yeast, mold, or fungus infections. The risk factors for fungi cancers are:
Obesity. A high level of body fat promotes the growth of candida yeast infections due to the excess consumption of carbohydrates and high levels of blood glucose. Obese people are known to have a higher incidence of cancer.
Diabetes. Diabetics have a higher incidence of cancer. A high level of blood glucose is a common symptom in diabetics and promotes the growth of fungi.
Inflammatory Bowel Diseases. People with IBD have a high frequency of candida yeast infections and a higher incidence of cancer, especially colon cancer.
Vaginal Yeast Infections. The incidence of cervical and ovarian cancer is most likely linked to the frequency and extent of vaginal yeast infections.
Systemic Candidiasis Albicans. A systemic candida yeast infection greatly increases the risk of cancer. Unless it is severe, a systemic yeast infection can be difficult to diagnose. Many doctors doubt that these infections exist or don't bother investigating. Women can have a systemic yeast infection while showing none of the symptoms of a vaginal yeast infection, thereby masking the diagnosis. A systemic candidiasis infection can simmer for many years until the failing health of the sufferer finally brings him/her to a doctor, but few doctors understand the frequency and severity of a candidiasis albicans infection. This delay in failing to properly diagnose the candidiasis often results in one or more severe, chronic diseases, often cancer.
Chronic Sinusitis and Persistent Cough. The sinuses and lungs can harbor fungi that thrive in the moist environment where they can propagate and travel to other areas of the body.

Dr. Tullio Simoncini - Lung Cancer Fungus Therapy with Sodium Bicarbonate.
"In general, this neoplasia responds very well to the therapy with sodium bicarbonate five per cent solution, which is implemented through arteriographic transcardial catheter positioned in the pertinent pulmonary artery. This allows the administration of the optimal doses against the mass or masses.
An eight to nine day cycle is sufficient to cause the regression of the disease. However, when the mass is present in the bronchial lumen as well, it is appropriate to program a cycle of at least 4 to 5 bronchoscopies through which it is possible to percolate in the bronchial airway 30-50 cm3 of bicarbonate solution to be left in the location. After the first treatment it is already possible to notice a reduction of the bronchial stinosis and edema with evident improvement in symptoms.
Aside from possible generic symptoms related to the administration of bicarbonate, the therapy is always well-tolerated and presents no problem except when the hyper-alkaline environment caused by the infusions favors the development of bacteria which demands immediate treatment with antibiotics. This applies especially in heavily debilitated patients.
Anti-tumor therapies that are specific to each anatomical area must be applied when the pleura or other organs are involved."

Most of the foods that are high in carbohydrates also contain fungi. Corn has been scientifically proven to be universally contaminated with fungi that produces mycotoxins (fungi that causes disease) such as aflatoxin, zearalenone, and ochratoxin. All corn is contaminated in the field and further contaminated in the storage systems. All other grains such as wheat, barley, rye, rice, oats, and flax are also contaminated by fungi, molds, and yeast that produce mycotoxins. The processes for manufacturing grain products such as breads, bagels, cereals, and snack foods do not eliminate the fungi or the mycotoxins. These unhealthy organisms and mycotoxins pass through the manufacturing processes and remain in the food that is sold in supermarkets. Thousands of different fungi, molds, and yeasts exist that can produce hundreds of toxic byproducts. The scientific research connecting fungus to cancer has not been touched by science. Carbohydrate food manufacturing companies, pharmaceutical manufacturing companies, vegetarians, and those biased groups that oppose eating meat have prevented the scientific community for getting research funding. Universities will not touch the topic relating fungi to cancer, but they willingly produce fraudulent and misleading studies trying to blame cancer on saturated fats and red meat. Don't expect any scientific progress connecting cancer and fungi. Virtually no research proving the connection between fungi and cancer is being carried out, funded, or planned. You are on your own to protect yourself.
Cigarettes are another major source for fungi. The leaves of the tobacco plant naturally develop surface fungi in the hot, humid climates where the plant flourishes. The fungus remains on the tobacco as it is processed into cigarettes. The fungus is carried deep into the lungs as the smoker inhales. The primary reason why cigarettes are carcinogenic is most likely due to the fungi.
An 85-year old man's persistent cough is finally healed.
George was a young boy when his mother died in the Oklahoma dust storms of the 1930s. His father tried to continue to raise the two boys on the farm, but they ran out of money and food. They were bankrupt and starving as they fled to the sanctuary of Grandma's home in Texas. This common plight was called being "starved out." The father begged rides and food in their desperation to survive along the road. George and his brother begged their father to stop at each farm house for food and rest as they were forced to walk the last 15 miles. Thankfully Grandma had food. George remembers how they could not stop eating.
George is now 85-years old and very active. He recently drove alone in his pickup nearly 3000 miles from Colorado to Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, and back in order to visit and clean the old family cemeteries along the way. He enjoys training his horse and raising two female donkeys who each have newborn babies. George's son hopes to use one of the young donkeys as a pack animal for hunting in the Rocky Mountains after it is grown and trained.
George had one health problem that the doctors could not cure. He had a persistent cough for many years. The doctors gave him antibiotics and X-ray examinations, but they could not arrive at an accurate diagnosis. He went from doctor to doctor without a successful treatment for his persistent cough.
I gave George a copy of this web page in the local restaurant and suggested that he might have a fungus infection in his lungs. Fungus is very common in dust around the farm and in the hay that he fed the animals. George was eager to try anything because the doctors were helpless at providing any relief. George and I started the protocol together. He found it difficult to inhale the sodium bicarbonate mist spray because of the natural response against breathing droplets of water. The mist causes an immediate cough response. George persisted by breathing deeply as he sprayed the mist. He was able to complete the protocol that also included the antibiotic.
George is healed at last. His persistent cough is gone. He suffered for many years with a fungal infection in the lungs which many doctors failed to diagnose or treat. This is not surprising because modern-day medical diagnoses literally ignore fungus infections. George is thrilled and livelier than ever.
Lawns, gardens, farms, dusty roads, flowers, hay, damp houses, basements, ponds, and swamps are common sources for a fungal infection. Fungus is unavoidable. Fungus is everywhere in our environment and easily enters the lungs as we breathe. The body resists the fungus but not vigorously. We do not get a fever when we have a fungal infection in the body. Medical books never discuss fungal infections in the lungs. Doctors rarely, if ever, consider fungus in their diagnosis of a persistent cough. It is a silent enemy but can be deadly.
Many books and websites cloud the issue by blaming fungi for every disease known to mankind. This shotgun approach is simply not true. Blaming fungi for dozens of diseases is detrimental to identifying those diseases that are truly caused by fungi. Diabetes and heart disease are not caused by fungi or their mycotoxins, but a yeast infection is common in diabetics. Autoimmune diseases such as lupus, multiple sclerosis, Crohn's disease, and ulcerative colitis have an indirect connection with fungi and mycotoxins through the damage of the intestinal lining and leaky gut syndrome. A high-carbohydrate diet leads to diabetes, inflammatory bowel diseases, and systemic candida yeast infections. Follow the diet recommendations in the following inflammatory bowel disease page to rid yourself of a systemic fungus or yeast infection. Read the following pages for the true cause of these diseases.

Persistent Cough, Phlegm, and Bronchial Mucus
The respiratory system has a demanding job and features that make the job even more difficult. The lungs act like a filter when dust, pollen, and chemicals are present in the air that is inhaled. The natural moisture captures the solid particles. To make matters worse, the lungs do not have a drain or outlet at the bottom. Every foreign particle that enters as we breathe has only two ways out. It is absorbed through either the lining of the lungs into the blood, or it must be expelled back up the bronchial tubes to be discharged through the nose or mouth. The lungs produce mucus or phlegm in an effort to capture the foreign particles. The mucus is slowly moved upward by fine hairs that line the bronchial tubes. These hairs also trigger a cough reflex where the sudden compression of the lungs attempts to blow the foreign material out.
Mucus and coughing are necessary reflexes when the lungs are sensing something is wrong, but a persistent production of excess mucus and a persistent cough signal that something is abnormal. A viral flu or a common cold produces a lot of discomfort, but we know that it will soon pass. A bacterial infection of the respiratory system can be more difficult when the infection does not go away without the help of prescription antibiotics.
Doctors often dismiss a persistent cough as a common viral cold without a culture test. Not prescribing an antibiotic can be a very dangerous approach. A better approach is to assume more dangerous methicillin (drug) resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infection and treat first with the Avelox (Moxifloxacin Hydrochloride) antibiotic. You can get a hint as to the cause by the observance of the symptoms:
Viral Infection - A viral infection in the lungs will not respond to antibiotics which are only effective against bacteria. Generally a viral infection will be conquered by the body's immune system within a few days. Serious viral pneumonia can result in death for those with a compromised immune system. Don't assume the problem is a common cold if you have had serious symptoms for more than a week.
Bacterial Infection - A bacterial infection in the lungs can persist as a nuisance cough or flare into bacterial pneumonia. Antibiotics are generally effective in suppressing the infection within a few days. The serious methicillin (drug) resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) must be treated by Avelox (Moxifloxacin Hydrochloride) antibiotic. No other antibiotic is effective. Therefore, a serious lung infection should be treated in this manner first. MRSA and Staph Infection Information.
Candida Yeast or Fungal Infection - A persistent cough that does not go away as expected and does not respond to an antibiotic treatment could be a candida yeast or fungal infection. It could also be cancer.
Candida albicans yeasts, molds, and fungi present another problem, because the symptoms can be fairly mild but never go away. Antibiotics do nothing to prevent or eliminate fungus. The body's immune system often reacts mildly or not at all. Because the symptoms are mild, many doctors don't consider a fungal infection, or they simply deny the infection exists. Most doctors recognize a candida yeast infection in the mouth and throat because they can see it, but they often ignore the likelihood that the lungs are also infected. Fungi under the finger and toe nails are obvious by the discoloration, and it cannot be ignore or dismissed; however, many doctors don't look at the condition as systemic (throughout the body). A persistent rectal itch is a positive symptom for a systemic candida yeast infection in the colon and throughout the body. A laboratory test of the stool will quickly give a positive identification. Bacterial infections are the first consideration by many doctors who quickly prescribe an antibiotic. The cause is then blamed on a virus if antibiotics do not clear the symptoms. Rarely do yeasts and fungi get the close examination and treatment that they deserve. If you have a persistent cough that is not eliminated by antibiotics, consider a systemic yeast or fungal infection.
Fungus in the lungs is difficult to cure by the administration of antifungal drugs because the fungus can grow on the surface tissue where it is not exposed to the drugs in the blood stream. A doctor may not treat the patient with a persistent cough by prescribing an antifungal drug, but even if he did the fungus will most likely not be eradicated. The sodium bicarbonate mist spray protocol presented here is very fast and effective. Doctors in general are not even aware of this method of treatment and it is not taught in medical school or presented in medical school reference books.
This web page presents a method of eliminating the fungus from the respiratory system. The good news is that the cure is very inexpensive and you can do it all yourself. This treatment may also be effective in curing fungus-caused cancer in the lungs and bronchial tubes, but this claim has not been investigated. If a lung or bronchial cancer has been diagnosed or suspected, treatment by Dr. Tullio Simoncini in Rome, Italy, is strongly recommended. As stated above, conventional medical treatments with chemotherapy, radiation, or surgery have a dismal success rate. You can proceed immediately with the treatment presented here as you prepare to secure treatment by Dr. Simoncini.
Sinusitis, Swollen Nasal Passages, Congestion, Runny Nose, and Allergies
You may have visited your ear, nose, and throat physician with horrible sinus symptoms only to suffer the added disappointment that after several months of conventional medical treatment you still have the same symptoms. Did you have painful, miserable surgery only to find no improvement whatsoever? You are not alone. What is wrong here? Your doctor may have prescribed an antibiotic, but you noticed no improvement. The doctor may have told you that you have a deviated septum (separation between the nasal openings bends to restrict one side). Of course you do. The majority of people have a deviated septum which does not explain the congestion on both sides. Did your doctor discuss the possibility of a fungal infection with you and prescribe a treatment? Did the doctor suggest a common inflammatory skin problem and prescribe a treatment? He most likely did not.
There are three common infections that cause sinusitis, swollen nasal passages, congestion, runny nose, mucus, and persistent itching:
Yeast or fungus infection.
Inflammatory skin reaction from unknown causes.
Most likely a person with persistent nasal congestion, discharge, and itching has all three of these conditions at the same time. Treating one or two will most likely not bring the desired relief.
Sue was a typical patient. She suffered with sinus problems for years. Believing she had a bacterial sinus infection, her doctors repeatedly prescribed antibiotics with no improvement. She had sinus surgery three times which left her with worse symptoms than before the surgeries. Antibiotics and surgery do not cure a fungal infection. In fact, they make it worse.
Fungal infections of the sinuses and nasal passages are difficult to diagnose, even when the likelihood is not ignored. Most people simply dismiss their sinus problems as an allergy that they must live with. Allergies are not curable. The attempt is made to reduce the symptoms to a manageable level. When allergy medicine does not work and when you still have sinus congestion in the middle of the winter, a fungus should be suspected. Pure white residue in the nose is easily identified as fungus or yeast. Breathe Ease XL is a commercial product that is very effective. It is mild and very effective. A stinging sensation indicates you have made the mixture too strong. The primary ingredient is potassium chloride.
Breathe-Ease XL Nasal Wash System - Sinus and Nasal Irrigation Products
A fungal infection in the sinuses will most likely spread to the bronchial tubes and the lungs. All must be treated together. Simply treating the sinuses or nasal passages without treating the lungs will most likely not be successful. The protocol presented here will treat the entire respiratory system.
Hydrogen peroxide 3% solution used as a mouth rinse is very healthy for the mouth, nasal passages, and bronchial tubes. The hydrogen peroxide 3% solution can be found in the supermarket or pharmacy as an over-the-counter product. It is very inexpensive. Prepare a dilute a mixture of one third hydrogen peroxide with two thirds of water as a mouth rinse. The flavor is nearly tasteless. Do not swallow, but keep it in the mouth for approximately 5 minutes. Swishing the solution around is acceptable. The hydrogen peroxide will begin to foam. Spit it out when it becomes very foamy. There is no need to rinse the mouth afterwards. The results are very refreshing and healthy. Hydrogen peroxide is a powerful disinfectant, antiseptic, and antifungal agent. An awesome side benefit is the tooth-whitening power of hydrogen peroxide that is the main ingredient in many tooth whitening products. Over use can make the teeth sensitive, so use with caution.
How to Whiten Your Teeth Cheaply with Hydrogen Peroxide as a Mouth Wash.
Hydrogen Peroxide - Wikipedia.org.
Everyone has residential bacteria in the nasal passage. It can include pathogenic bacteria that reside on the nasal hairs and surfaces of the membranes. Hospitals often swab the nose with antibiotics prior to surgery because it has been shown to be a major source of contamination and infection of the incision by the patient after surgery. The bacteria in the nasal passages set off the body's immune response when they attempt to invade the membrane. The symptoms can include itching, runny nose, mucus, swelling, and ulceration. Oral antibiotics fail to reach these bacteria because they reside outside of the vascular system. Two different topical treatments must both be taken in order to rid the nasal passages of these miserable pests.
Topical Antibiotic. Use one drop daily of Zymar (gatifloxacin ophthalmic solution 0.3%) antibiotic eye drops in each eye. This will cleanse the eyes, tear ducts, and enter the nasal passage. Also use one drop directly into the nasal passage. Do not touch the eye or nose with the dropper. Follow this treatment for 10 days.
Topical Hydrogen Peroxide Disinfectant. Thoroughly saturate a cotton swab (Q-tip) with mixture of one third hydrogen peroxide and two thirds water. Swab the nasal passage. Use separate swabs for each side. Hydrogen peroxide is a very good disinfectant. It is very mild. It may foam somewhat. Do not blow out the excess. Simply blot the nose. Repeat this treatment as desired periodically. Use the hydrogen peroxide as a mouth rinse as described above.
Do Not Pick The Nose. The discharge and itching of the nasal passage make it difficult to refrain from getting some relief by picking the nose with a small finger nail. This should be avoided. Picking the nose abrades the membrane which allows the bacteria to invade more easily. It tends to make the condition worse by exciting the body's immune response. Blowing the nose is a much better approach.
Treatment Protocol for Candida, Mold, and Fungal Respiratory System Infections
Sodium bicarbonate kills candida albicans yeast, molds, and fungi. Fortunately sodium bicarbonate is very well accepted by the body. In fact, sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) is a common food additive. We consume sodium bicarbonate almost daily. Sodium bicarbonate is a common ingredient in tooth paste and teeth whiting products. It is also used as an enema to help cure fungal infections of the colon. However, eating or drinking baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) does not kill yeast or fungus in other areas of the body, because the stomach acid (HCL) simply neutralizes the alkaline sodium bicarbonate.
Step No. 1 - Fungus feeds on carbohydrates in the diet and glucose in the blood. Therefore, the first step is to start an antifungal diet as described on the following web page for treating inflammatory bowel diseases. This step is very important. Carbohydrates are fungus food.
Inflammatory Bowel Diseases, IBD, IBS, Crohn's, Ulcerative Colitis, Candida & Others.
Step No. 2 - Take an antifungal drug. One highly recommended antifungal drug is Diflucan (Fluconazole). The diet program presented here suppresses candida albicans yeast and fungus in the digestive tract; however, complete eradication most likely will require additional efforts with the use of herbal products and prescription drugs. This diet program will prevent the repopulation in healthy individuals. Some helpful anti-candida, anti-fungal prescription drugs are Nystatin (external only), Sporanox (Itraconazole), and Diflucan (Fluconazole), but some strains of candida may be resistant. Herbal products are sometimes helpful. Take Renew Life CandiGONE that includes many anti-candida herbs including Uva Ursi that is scientifically proven to be an antibiotic. As a second alternative take olive leaf extract beginning with one capsule per day and increasing to three. Another choice is oil of oregano enteric coated time release softgel capsules beginning with one per day and increasing to one per meal. Use oregano with caution as it may cause sudden candida die-off and diarrhea. A fourth alternative is NOW Candida Clear with Pau D'Arco, Oregano Oil, Black Walnut, and Caprylic Acid. Other herbal products are barberry, golden seal, and Oregon grape root.
"The recommended dosage of Diflucan for esophageal candidiasis is 200 mg on the first day, followed by 100 mg once daily. Doses up to 400 mg/day may be used, based on medical judgment of the patient's response to therapy. Patients with esophageal candidiasis should be treated for a minimum of three weeks and for at least two weeks following resolution of symptoms." Systemic Candida infections
"For systemic Candida infections including candidemia, disseminated candidiasis, and pneumonia, optimal therapeutic dosage and duration of therapy have not been established. In open, noncomparative studies of small numbers of patients, doses of up to 400 mg daily have been used."
GlobalRPh.com Anti Fungal, Anti-herpetic, Herpes Simplex & Anti-viral agents.
"Diflucan Treatment for Esophageal candidiasis: 100-200 mg orally once daily (up to 400mg/day)."
Step No. 3 - The direct treatment of fungus in the lungs, bronchial tubes, sinuses, and nasal passages is accomplished by spraying a mist of water containing sodium bicarbonate directly into the mouth as a deep breath of air is drawn in. The mist enters the bronchial tubes and is carried further into the lungs. This protocol is simple and inexpensive. The only necessary materials are a spray bottle, hydrogen peroxide, pure water, and sodium bicarbonate. It is also important to take an antibiotic at the same time, because the higher pH alkaline environment created in the lungs can make a bacterial infection more likely to occur. Bacteria are generally discouraged by a lower pH acidic environment. Purchase the following items.
A new empty hand-held spray bottle with at least one-cup (8 oz) capacity. The nozzle must be adjustable to spray a fine mist.
A bottle of hydrogen peroxide to rinse and disinfect the spray bottle. Pump the spray to disinfect the nozzle as well.
A package (box) of baking soda. The ingredients must list sodium bicarbonate and nothing else.
A gallon (4 liters) of pure reverse osmosis water that has been disinfected by an ultra violet (UV) lamp, or buy sterile water from a pharmacy. (Do not use tap water even if boiled, because it contains chlorine, fluorine, minerals, and other impurities.) This water can be purchased at many supermarkets and/or health food stores. A home-size reverse osmosis unit with a UV lamp is another excellent option. This is the same procedure used to make sterile water for hospitals. It is installed under the sink with the dispenser conveniently located above.
You can easily test the effectiveness of sodium bicarbonate to kill fungus. Simply mix a strong solution to spray on mushrooms growing in the lawn and garden. The mushrooms will shrivel the next day and die soon thereafter because they are a fungus. This is an excellent and inexpensive method to rid the garden and lawn of the pesky mushrooms.
Step No. 4 - The antifungal treatment of the respiratory tract with sodium bicarbonate creates an alkaline environment that destroys the fungus, but it also creates an environment that promotes some types of bacteria. Therefore, an antibiotic is recommended to reduce the possibility that a bacterial infection could occur.
Purchase the antibacterial drug Doxycycline in 100 mg capsules. Ten (10) capsules will be needed for the five (5) day treatment protocol.
Doxycycline can be purchased on the Internet without a prescription for those people who feel qualified to perform self-treatment. Others should contact their physician.
People with the experience and training in self-administering drugs can purchase drugs online without a prescription for personal use on the following International websites. Are Internet Drugs Safe? The manufacturer of a drug that can be purchased over the Internet should be reviewed to insure the quality of the company. Search for the manufacturer's website before placing the order. The drugs received should be packaged in special bubble wrap packages with the manufacturer's name, drug name, and dosage clearly printed. The complexity of the package and the printing indicates authenticity. Receiving tablets or capsules that are packaged loose in a plain bottle or simple box is totally unacceptable. Some of the suppliers above ship high-quality generic and name brand drugs from multibillion dollar international pharmaceutical companies such as Ranbaxy Laboratories (India), GlaxoKlineSmith (United Kingdom), CIPLA, Limited (India), Sun Pharmaceuticals Industries, LTD. (India), Surya Pharma (India), Unichem Laboratories Limited (India), Mega Fine Pharma (India), Ind-Swift Limited (India), Dr. Reddy's Pharmaceutical Company (worldwide), and Stada Arzneimittel AG (Germany). Avoid all drugs made in China.
Are Prescription Drugs Bad for Us? Most people have become extremely resistant to taking prescription drugs until they are faced with the choice between taking a drug or certain death. Most doctors hesitate to prescribe antibiotics based on the false logic that drugs create drug-resistant bacteria. The doctors would rather sacrifice the patient for what they feel is for the higher good of society. Another example is the hesitancy of most doctors to prescribe an antibiotic when the patient is suspected of having common food poisoning. The physicians use the false logic that the patient's immune system is sufficient to make him better in a few days. The doctor may also fail to test for the pathogen which could later be found to be deadly. A common e-Coli bacterial infection can cause permanent liver damage and death. Food poisoning causes 4,000 deaths in the United States every year.
Some prescription drugs have been found to cause death, and many have been pulled off the market by the US-FDA. Other drugs have serious negative side effects, but the bad drugs should not be used as a blanket to label all drugs as unacceptable. Many drugs are awesome. As an example, I ate some raw green pepper for lunch one day which was contaminated with a pathogenic bacteria, resulting in typical food poisoning symptoms. I immediately took one 500 mg tablet of Cipro. Some doctors avoid prescribing Cipro because of negative side effects; however, the food poisoning symptoms soon dissipated, and I ate a full prime rib dinner without any recurrence of the symptoms. Placing a blanket rejection label on all prescription drugs can be dangerously unhealthy.
Are Generic Prescription Drugs Safe? Generic drugs purchased from your local drugstore may not be as safe as Internet drugs even though you purchased them with a doctor's prescription. In some cases you may not know the origin of manufacture. The drugs are handled in bulk rather than safety bubble wrap. They may have come from China where impurities in food, supplements, and drugs are common. They could contain heavy metals, carcinogens, or toxic trace chemicals. Don't assume you are getting the best quality drugs simply because you purchased them with a doctor's prescription from your local pharmacy on your health insurance.
The best lab test package is the "Men's Profile" or "Women's Profile" that can be done at any local LabCorp facility. Although MDLiveCare uses LabCorp as their preferred laboratory, you can ask for a direct copy via fax or mail so you can go to the laboratory of your choice. Call the laboratory to see what the requirements are, but an appointment is generally not necessary. Simply find the nearest office and walk in with your prescription and insurance card. The video conferencing doctor will also send the drug prescription to your local pharmacy. You can present your insurance card when you pick up the drugs. Another good test is the LabCorp VAP cholesterol package. This test gives a breakdown which is called "cholesterol sub-fractions." The reference websites are:

Step No. 5 - Rinse the spray bottle with reverse osmosis water. Avoid using soaps or cleaners that could damage the lungs. Prepare the sodium bicarbonate spray by partially filling the spray bottle with one cup (8 oz) of reverse osmosis water that has been treated with an ultra violate (UV) lamp. Add about two (2) level teaspoons of sodium bicarbonate. Holding your fingers at the top of the bottle helps form a funnel for easier filling. This is best done over a sink where you can disregard spillage. Shake the bottle well. Move to an area such as the garage, patio, or back yard, where spray on the floor or ground will not bother anything. Spray the bottle in the air and adjust the nozzle to form a fine mist.
Open your mouth and place the spray bottle with the nozzle near the front of your mouth. Exhale deeply followed by a full inhalation of air. Spray the bottle at the exact same time as the air is drawn in. This is similar to the procedure used by asthma sufferers using an inhaler. The immediate auto-response of the lungs will be a cough reflex as the mist contacts the fine hairs in the bronchial tubes. Try to suppress the cough reflex as much as possible. The goal is to not cough up the sodium bicarbonate solution. The bronchial tubes become less sensitive with each spray, which should allow several inhalations without coughing. Repeat the inhalation and spray procedure about five (5) times on the first day as one session. Repeat the session three times on the first day, about 30 minutes after breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
On the second and following days the number of sprays inhaled per treatment session is increased to ten (10) or twelve (12) times. Repeat the session three times a day, about 30 minutes after breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The total treatment time is five (5) days.
Step No. 6 - After inhaling the spray mist, hold the spray bottle nozzle to one nostril while closing the other nostril with your finger. Press the spray handle once as you attempt to inhale or sniff the spray through the nostril. Repeat the procedure with the other nostril. Turn the spray bottle toward the air and press the handle several times. Wipe the nozzle tip with a paper towel. The sinuses and nasal passages are more sensitive to the sodium bicarbonate solution than the throat, bronchial tubes, or lungs; therefore, the nasal passages may sting slightly causing the nose to run. Blow the nose lightly as required, but the goal is to not blow out all of the sodium bicarbonate solution.
Swallowing a sodium bicarbonate solution is perfectly safe, and it is desirable because it helps to kill fungi in the throat, esophagus, and stomach. Dr. Tullio Simoncini uses this same solution as a drink for the treatment of stomach cancer.
Discard the remaining contents of the spray bottle or use it as a pesky mushroom fungicide in the garden or flower bed. Sodium bicarbonate is deadly to fungus such as mushrooms. It can also be used as a very effective treatment for athlete's foot (fungus between the toes).
Rinse everything with the sterile reverse osmosis water. Pump the spray handle to rinse the sprayer. Empty the bottle and pump the unassembled sprayer until it is empty. Assemble the two and place the assembly in the refrigerator.
Step No. 7 - Take one (1) Doxycycline 100 mg capsule twice a day. One with breakfast and one with dinner. Do not skip this step.
Stop the procedure after five days. Do not continue using the sodium bicarbonate spray; however, the Doxycycline can be continued for a few more days as a precaution.
Step No. 8 - Purchase and begin taking probiotics before the antibiotics are started. Do not skip this step. These are live cultures of bacteria that are desirable in the digestive tract. The antibiotic will kill these good bacteria in the digestive system; therefore, they are continually being replaced with each meal. Purchase the following, and take one or two each with each meal three times a day. Beneficial probiotics also discourage the growth of fungi and pathogenic bacteria. It is strongly recommended that the probiotics be taken on a continual basis, even after discontinuation of this treatment.

Benefits of Lactobacillus Sporogenes as a probiotic.
Step No. 9 - The one-time spray session can be done on a follow-up basis once every other week. Take one (1) Doxycycline 100 mg capsule twice a day, one with breakfast, and one with dinner for three days. Don't do the treatment on a continuous basis.
Step No. 10 - The nasal passage at the front of the nose many continue to itch if an inflammatory skin problem persists. Diseases that cause inflammatory itching do not respond to the antibacterial and antifungal treatments above. One more drug must be used to quiet the inflammatory reaction. Two drugs of choice are Fluocinonide topical cream or Fluticasone nasal spray. These drugs are a class of medications called corticosteroids. This last step may feel like a miracle cure. Apply the cream with a Q-tip twice a day for five days or the spray as recommended on the instruction page.
Step No. 11 - The full five (5) day procedure can be done on an annual basis as desired if symptoms persist.
Step No. 12 - Use a mixture of one third hydrogen peroxide and two thirds water daily as a mouth rinse on a continuing basis as described above.

The Latest News About Lung Cancer, Bronchial Itching, and Persistent Cough Treatments
There appears to be growing evidence that yeast and fungus are directly related to cancer and other deadly infections. The following news article and scientific studies support this connection.
Killer fungus seen in Pacific Northwest - April 23, 2010.
"A rare but life-threatening tropical fungus that causes lung infections in both people and animals has been seen in the Pacific Northwest and could spread, researchers are reporting."
"The fungus, known as Cryptococcus gattii (or C. gattii), has infected dozens of humans and animals--including cats, dogs, and dolphins--in Washington and Oregon in the past five years. While rare, the fungus has been lethal in about 25 percent of the people in the U.S. who have developed infections, according to Edmond Byrnes III, a doctoral student in molecular genetics and microbiology at Duke University and one of the lead authors of a new study about the fungus."
Hopes raised for block on cancer - BBC News - August 31, 2008.
"Scientists say they have taken a big step towards blocking a chemical vital to the growth of many cancers. They have unpicked the structure of telomerase, an enzyme which, when active, helps keep cells in an "immortal" state.
The chemical is at work in more than nine out of ten types of tumour."
Telomerase in yeast.
M Cohn and EH Blackburn
Department of Microbiology and Immunology, University of California, San Francisco 94143-0414, USA.
The ribonucleoprotein enzyme telomerase synthesizes telomeric DNA by copying an internal RNA template sequence. The telomerase activities of the yeasts Saccharomyces castellii and Saccharomyces cerevisiae--with regular and irregular telomeric sequences, respectively--have now been identified and characterized. The S. cerevisiae activity required the telomerase RNA gene TLC1 but not the EST1 gene, both of which are required for normal telomere maintenance in vivo. This activity exhibited low processivity and produced no regularly repeated products. An inherently high stalling frequency of the S. cerevisiae telomerase may account for its in vitro properties and for the irregular telomeric sequences of this yeast."

Warning to heed lung cancer signs - BBC Health - March 26, 2005.
"People could be dying of lung cancer because they fail to spot and act on early warning signs, a study suggests. UK researchers who interviewed 22 recently diagnosed lung cancer patients found many had experienced symptoms for months before seeking help. Yet none realised their tiredness, coughs, and breathlessness might be serious or symptoms of lung cancer, the authors told the journal Thorax. Cancer experts stressed the importance of catching and treating tumours early."
Cough medicines 'of little help' - BBC Health - January 10, 2006.
"Taking cough medicine does little to help recovery, US experts have said.
The American College of Chest Physicians has published guidelines for its members saying there was "no clinical evidence" they worked. They suggest adults should use older non-prescription antihistamines and decongestants to stop the flow of mucus that causes the cough."
Threefold Dose Intensity of ICE Does Not Improve Outcomes in Small Cell Lung Cancer. (4/17/2008)Hormone Replacement Therapy Increases Cancer Risk. (3/11/2008)
"Researchers associated with the Solid Tumors Working Party of the European Group for Blood and Marrow Transplantation have reported that increasing the dose intensity of ICE (ifosfamide, carboplatin, and etoposide) by threefold by using peripheral blood stem cell support did not improve outcomes of patients with limited or extensive stage small cell lung cancer (SCLC). The details of this study appeared in an early online publication in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute on April 8, 2008."
"Researchers affiliated with the Women’s Health Initiative (WHI) have reported that hormone replacement therapy (HRT) increases the risk of breast cancer and lung cancer among postmenopausal women. These results were recently published in the March 5, 2008 issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association."

Good Calories, Bad Calories by Gary Taubes
This is a must-read book. Gary Taubes is an award-winning scientist who has specialized in exposing misleading, incorrect, or fraudulent science. His seven-year research in every science connected with the impact of nutrition on health shows us that almost everything we believe about the nature of a healthy diet is wrong. For decades we have been taught that fat is bad for us, carbohydrates are better, and that the key to a healthy weight is eating less and exercising more. Yet with more and more people acting on the advice, we have seen unprecedented epidemics of obesity and diabetes.
Taubes argues persuasively that the problem lies in refined carbohydrates (white flour, sugar, easily digested starches) via their dramatic effect on insulin -- the hormone that regulates fat accumulation -- and that the key to good health is the kind of calories we take in, not the number. There are good and bad calories. Taubes traces how the common assumption that carbohydrates are fattening was abandoned in the 1960s when fat and cholesterol were blamed for heart disease and then -- wrongly -- were seen as the causes of a host of other maladies, including cancer. He shows us how these unproven hypotheses were emphatically embraced by authorities in nutrition, public health, and clinical medicine in spite of how well-conceived clinical trials have consistently refuted them. He also documents the dietary trials of carbohydrate restriction which consistently show that the fewer carbohydrates we consume the leaner we will be.
With precise references to the most significant existing clinical studies, he convinces us that there is no compelling scientific evidence demonstrating that saturated fat and cholesterol cause heart disease; that salt causes high blood pressure; and that fiber is a necessary part of a healthy diet. Based on the evidence that does exist, he leads us to conclude that the only healthy way to lose weight and remain lean is to eat fewer carbohydrates or to change the type of carbohydrates we do eat and, for some of us, perhaps to eat virtually none at all.

Life Without Bread: How a Low-Carbohydrate Diet Can Save Your Life
Life Without Bread is an important addition to the growing body of literature on the benefits and importance of low-carb diet. Written by Christian Allan, Ph.D., and Wolfgang Lutz, M.D., the book is based on Dr. Lutz's experience using carbohydrate restricted diets with thousands of patients for more than 40 years. It is based on extensive research in the medical and scientific literature and provides ample references. The book presents a unified theory of how high (and even moderate) levels of dietary carbohydrate cause or exacerbate various health problems and how carbohydrate restriction can help people to recover from those problems.
The book Life Without Bread by Christian Allan, Ph.D. and Wolfgang Lutz, M.D. has a chapter on gastrointestinal diseases. Don't be misled by the title to believe the cure is the simple elimination of bread. Mr. Lutz's older book is out of print but has essentially the same information. It may even contain more detail than his new book above. Fortunately, Chapter VII: Gastro-Intestinal Tract of the older book can be read online.
